Job Description And Duties
Patton State Hospital Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) Limited-Term, Full-Time appointment to the Registered Nurse (Safety) classification in the admissions suite for Program VI. The Registered Nurse is under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor. Positions filled as Limited- Term may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Candidates should be able to manage a high paced psychiatric environment. The position requires the ability to prioritize assignments and multitask efficiently. Therapeutic Strategy Intervention (TSI) skills are essential to this position. Teamwork is also essential in this high-paced position. Candidates should have excellent assessment and communication skills. Job duties will include processing newly admitted patients, finger printing, processing identification badges, registering patients into the Department of Justice (DOJ) database, processing patient property and escorting patients to their assigned home unit.
This position is 0800-1630, Monday through Friday with weekend off, but schedules may be changed to meet the needs of the hospital. This position is considered an off-unit assignment and will participate in the holiday scheduling process. This requires working two (2) major holidays and one (1) high need day per year.
The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
